Job summary

Amentum is seeking an engineer to perform diverse design, analysis, and oversight for Kennedy Propellants and Life Support Services on the KPLSS II program at Kennedy Space Center, FL.

The role involves leading design and analysis tasks, ensuring safe propellant operations from concept to daily maintenance, and coordinating with multiple teams and contractors. A U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related scientific field and at least 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Security Clearance (NACI). US citizenship is required for restricted area access.
  • Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
  • Ensure safe operations and maintenance of all propellant activities from conceptual design through procurement, activation, modification, and daily operations.
  • Provide technical direction to technicians, inspectors, contractors, and others.
  • Prepare technical documentation for propellant equipment and processes including needs, specifications, activation, and training.
  • Provide studies of propellants requirements and equipment capabilities to determine effective delivery and storage methods.
  • Perform assessments including cost analysis, inventory management, and contingency planning.
  • Coordinate scheduling and status with KPLSS II, the Government, and other contractors.
  • Prepare fluid specification documents and purchase requests for ongoing needs.
  • Lead less complex tasks and contribute to design or analysis sections of projects.
  • Generate complete design specifications for more complex projects.
  • Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on technical content and level of effort.
