Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to develop base software for propulsion and powertrain control systems within an RTOS environment. You will design, implement, and validate software aligned with AUTOSAR architecture and functional safety standards.

The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software across ICE, hybrid, and electric vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering required.
• 1+ years embedded C/C++ in RTOS environment.
• Experience configuring AUTOSAR basic software (OS, MCAL, CAN, LIN).
• Familiar with ISO 26262 functional safety concepts.
• Proficient in debugging and verification methods.
• MISRA-C coding standards knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with data acquisition tools (ETAS, INCA, CANoe).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded base software for propulsion and EE control modules.
• Analyze software requirements, design, code, and perform unit and integration testing using C/C++ in RTOS.
• Create and execute test plans including white box, black box, and gray box testing.
• Review software requirements, architecture, code, and test documentation for quality and compliance.
• Configure AUTOSAR basic software modules (OS, MCAL, CAN, LIN, DEM, DCM, WDG).
• Work with low‑level drivers and diagnostics to support system functionality.
• Utilize debugging tools, emulators, and compilers to identify and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to refine software requirements.
• Support virtualization and simulation‑based development methodologies.
