Job summary

Apex is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to design propulsion modules for our spacecraft, owning mechanical structures, mounting interfaces, and the installation of flow controllers, PPUs, and thrusters. You will work with in-house teams to optimize mechanical, thermal, and interface design from concept through build, test, and production, while partnering with manufacturing to scale first builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in mechanical, aerospace, or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical or aerospace engineering experience, with structural design and hardware installation/integration.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical designs for propulsion modules and interfaces.
• Design module structures for launch loads, vibration, and thermal environments.
• Collaborate with in-house thruster, flow controller, and PPU teams.
• Perform structural analysis including hand calculations and FEA.
• Design for manufacturing and assembly to enable scalable production.
• Create component and assembly drawings, tolerances, torque specs, and work instructions.
