Job summary

LiquidPiston is seeking a Simulation Engineering Intern for Spring 2027 in Bloomfield, CT. You will work onsite with an interdisciplinary team to run models for engine performance, thermal and structural analyses, and data-driven decision making.

You’ll evaluate designs, automate workflows, and document methods and results while learning from experienced engineers in a fast-paced propulsion development environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Strong interest in engineering simulation, modeling, and analysis.
• Solid foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, or structural mechanics.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Develop and run simulation models for engine performance, thermal, structural, and system analyses.
• Analyze results to identify trends, drivers, and design improvements.
• Support modeling of engine and propulsion behavior across operating conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and document methods and results.
