Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Propulsion Design Engineer I to join the Neutron program. Based at our headquarters, you will design engine components for Archimedes and support development from concept through production.

You will work with SMEs to meet performance and manufacturability goals, conduct trade studies, and collaborate with fabrication teams to bring hardware to life while advancing aerospace propulsion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong FEA/thermal/fluid analysis background.
• Experience with design for manufacturing and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design engine systems to meet performance, quality and manufacturability requirements.
• Develop and own mechanical design solutions for propulsion systems.
• Perform trade studies and design reviews from concept to production.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams to bring hardware from design to fruition.
