Job summary

Relativity Space in California seeks a Propulsion Hardware Development Engineer to bring the Aeon-R engine from paper designs to reliable, production-ready hardware. You’ll partner with design and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability and drive improvements through new processes.

You should have a bachelor’s degree in a science/engineering field and 2+ years of engineering experience, with hands-on knowledge of thermodynamics, structures, fluid dynamics and heat transfer.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of thermodynamics, structures, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
• Experience with CFD/FEA tools (ANSYS).

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes to enable high-rate production and improve engine performance.
• Collaborate with design and analysis teams to simplify propulsion systems.
• Lead design for manufacturing (DFM) initiatives.
• Design test setups and coordinate development, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Participate in test failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Design, analyze, and procure tooling for part manufacturing and system testing.
• Create and maintain development build and test schedules.
