Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Propulsion Design Engineer II to join the Integrated Design team. You will own engine layout and packaging, and drive design and analysis of propulsion hardware from concept through integration.

Collaborating with Manufacturing, Test, and Vehicle Design, you will lead layout trade studies, release CAD/eBOMs, and push performance, reliability, and cost improvements for the Aeon-R engine systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Demonstrated project/technical leadership skills.
• Strong understanding of structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Own overall engine layout and packaging; conduct layout trade studies.
• Control and release CAD/EBOM for top-level engine assemblies.
• Design and analyze hardware such as engine gimbal, cryogenic/hot propellant ducting, fluid manifolds, tubing, and secondary structures.
• Lead development of new methods for manufacturing or testing critical flight hardware.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Test and Vehicle Design.
