Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Propulsion team is seeking a Manufacturing Functional Technician to join the team to support production manufacturing of future flight hardware. The Propulsion Manufacturing Functional Technician will work within the Amazon Leo Propulsion Manufacturing Team supporting the build and integration of electric propulsion subsystems, including feed systems, thrusters, cathodes, PCBAs, tanks, and the integrated propulsion system. This technician will be knowledgeable across multiple manufacturing process paths, perform troubleshooting activities, support training programs, and lead process improvement initiatives within their scope. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on manufacturing experience with flight hardware and thrives in a fast‑paced production environment.
The Propulsion Manufacturing Functional Technician will perform a variety of hardware manufacturing and integration tasks across propulsion subsystems to ensure hardware meets production requirements for flight. They will work closely with engineering teams to provide feedback on processes and identify improvements. This technician is expected to be knowledgeable across multiple process paths, support peers and new hires, and lead process improvements within their scope. They will utilize MES and SAP systems for daily production tracking and traceability and will actively support the team in resolving work blockers and general operational needs. A successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment and can apply their technical expertise and commitment to quality to positively impact team metrics and organization goals. To be successful they will need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.
The Amazon Leo Propulsion Team is responsible for the design and development of the propulsion system which provides maneuvering capability to the spacecraft. The Propulsion Team is made up of a variety of sub‑teams which are responsible for various aspects of the development process, such as mechanical design, systems engineering, subject matter experts, manufacturing, and test. This integrated team structure allows direct communication and rapid process feedback while also promoting close collaboration across the team.

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
