Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Kirkland, WA is hiring manufacturing technicians to join our high-traceability environment for assembling LRUs, avionics, and complex aerospace builds. You will follow detailed instructions, maintain inventory, and contribute to process improvements.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year experience with hand tools and precision instruments, and can read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment or relevant trade school certification.
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (Calipers, multimeters, torque wrenches).
  • 1+ years working with test tools/methods that validate systems.
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Assemble LRUs and avionics assemblies with attention to detail.
  • Participate in process improvements and maintain floor stock inventory.
  • Independently execute and prioritize work to meet deliverables.
  • Champion safety requirements in all zones and locations.

We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites. The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. Key job responsibilities
  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
  • You will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
  • Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits are provided. This information is provided per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on market location.

A day in the life
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
  • CFOT certification or equivalent experience
  • Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
  • ASE certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
