Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Kirkland, WA, is seeking an experienced hardware assembler for mechanical or electrical assembly in a high-reliability environment. You will perform satellite hardware assembly, testing, and acceptance in a cleanroom, with emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires 3+ years in hardware assembly, ability to read drawings, use precision tools, and work in a team. You may lift 25 lbs and stand for long periods, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation.
  • Experience in a high-reliability or aerospace environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safety & Quality Leadership: Champion high safety and quality standards for products and personnel.
  • Satellite Integration & Testing: Perform integration and testing of satellites and subassemblies in cleanroom environments.
  • Hardware Handling: Conduct rigging and lifts of bulky hardware with precision.
  • Precision Tooling: Use torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers to inspect parts.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Process Compliance: Follow procedures, specs and work instructions.
  • Non-Conformance Documentation: Record non-conformities and support corrective actions.
  • Digital Systems Use: Operate MES in SAP and related software.
  • Collaboration & Improvement: Work with Manufacturing Engineers to drive improvements.
  • Operational Support: Assist with related duties to maintain a safe, efficient environment.
  • Flexibility: Overtime as needed and ability to work independently or in a team.

Key job responsibilities
  • Safety & Quality Leadership: Champion high safety and quality standards for both products and personnel.
  • Satellite Integration & Testing: Perform integration and testing of Amazon Leo satellites and complex subassemblies in cleanroom and ESD-controlled environments.
  • Hardware Handling: Conduct rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive hardware with precision and care.
  • Precision Tooling: Utilize calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, optical inspection devices, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Process Compliance: Execute work in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and work instructions
  • Non-Conformance Documentation: Identify and document non-conformities as required to ensure traceability and corrective action.
  • Digital Systems Use: Operate computer software programs including Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in SAP.
  • Collaboration & Improvement: Partner with Manufacturing Engineers (ME) to develop, refine, and document activities, driving continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Operational Support: Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain an efficient, safe, and effective work environment
  • Flexibility: Work overtime when required and adapt to working independently or collaboratively within a team.
Additional Requirements
  • Estimated shift time: 1st shift Wed-Sun 4/10s (5:00pm-3:30am).
  • Standing for long periods of time and repetitive assembly operations
  • Climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Some basic knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
  • Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
