Job summary

A pioneering aerospace startup located in Los Angeles is seeking a talented individual to design propulsion systems for ground-breaking spacecraft. This role involves the entire lifecycle of mechanical designs, ensuring prototypes meet high-performance standards. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to the production of some of the most advanced satellite technology and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with mechanical and/or electromechanical design and analysis.
  • Experience with the practical application of GD&T.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the principles of mechanical design, materials, thermodynamics, and fluids.
  • Ability to design, build, and test hardware from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Own the mechanical design of propulsion system subassemblies.
  • Validate designs from concept to production through successful flight demonstrations.
  • Generate 3D models and dimensioned drawings.
  • Perform analysis on data from testing hardware.
  • Develop and execute component and system‑level test plans.
  • Manage key propulsion vendors and suppliers.
  • Refine sub‑system deliverable schedules throughout development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or other relevant engineering discipline
