Job summary

Lewis & Clark College in Portland invites applications for a part-time Theatre Stock Assistant. You will help organize and maintain the theatre department's prop and furniture stock, lending items, and keeping accurate checkout records.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student (work-study eligible).
  • Evenings and weekends possible due to schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Lend out items to students and other theatres and maintain records of checkouts.
  • Track and ensure timely return and condition of all items.
  • Coordinate lending hours with the Costume Stock Manager for shared access.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Theatre Department stock of props and furniture is large and could easily overwhelm us if not kept in good condition. You will work closely with the Theatre Department’s Technical Director to organize, maintain and improve our stock.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lending out items to students and other theaters is a large component of this position.
  • You would be responsible for checking out any item, keeping a record of all items checked out and ensuring items are returned on time and in good condition.
  • You will be working together with our Costume Stock Manager to coordinate lending hours for easy access to both stock managers at the same time.
  • Ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those who are underrepresented in the country and/or at Lewis & Clark College.
SCHEDULE:

Weekly schedule based on student availability. Some on call hours are also required. This will include evenings and weekends. Students must remain on campus through finals.

RATE OF PAY:

$17.50 per hour

WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT:

Federal or Lewis and Clark work study required Must be able to lift and carry at least 20 pounds. Must be comfortable going up and down stairs.
