Job summary

Rotolo Consultants, Inc. seeks a Proposal Writer to turn client requirements into persuasive submissions. You will collaborate with estimating, operations, business development, and leadership to assemble complete, compliant, and compelling proposals for public and private opportunities.

You will manage content development, coordinate with SMEs, and maintain templates and processes to improve efficiency and quality across departments. This is a full-time, on-site role in Slidell, LA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• Professional writing, editing, proposal development, or related experience; construction, landscaping, professional services, or government contracting preferred.
• Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and document-formatting skills with strong attention to detail.
• Natural curiosity and ability to ask thoughtful questions, investigate unfamiliar topics, and learn quickly.
• Persistence and follow-through when gathering information and completing complex assignments.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed solicitation documents and translate requirements into organized proposal deliverables.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills with multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word; proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with proposal management or procurement platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Proposal Development: Write, edit, format, and produce proposals, bids, statements of qualifications, presentations, and related materials in response to RFPs, RFQs, ITBs, and other opportunities.
• Solicitation Review & Compliance: Review documents to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, forms, deadlines; create compliance checklists.
• Content Development: Translate technical and estimating information into clear written content describing experience, staffing, and approach.
• Proposal Coordination: Coordinate with estimating, business development, operations, and SMEs to gather information and meet deadlines.
• Proposal Management: Manage multiple proposals from solicitation to submission; track items and ensure on-time completion.
• Editing & Quality Assurance: Review for completeness, clarity, grammar, and formatting; final QC before submission.
