Job summary

Jobtailor in Washington, DC seeks a seasoned Portfolio Manager for federal engagements to monitor performance, staffing, utilization, margin, and forecast accuracy, providing portfolio-level metrics to leadership.

You will partner with engagement leaders to align delivery with client outcomes, identify systemic risks, build scalable operational infrastructure, ensure contract alignment and compliance, and support cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years in consulting, professional services, or portfolio/program management.
• Direct federal contracting experience required.
• Hands-on familiarity with OASIS+, GWACs, GSA schedules, and agency IDIQs/MACs.

Responsibilities

• Provide portfolio-level metrics for leadership.

• Build appropriately scaled operational infrastructure.
• Own operational rigor on federal engagements, including contract alignment, documentation, and compliance.
• Help pursue and win task orders through OASIS+, GWACs, GSA schedules, and agency IDIQs.
• Maintain awareness of the federal pipeline.
• Build relationships across the Washington, DC contracting ecosystem.
• Support cross-team coordination between US and international teams.
• Support hiring and workforce planning.
• Report to the Product Owner of the firm's US Consulting business and work closely with the COO.

Job description

Requirements

• Working understanding of consulting/professional-services business metrics, including utilization, margin, staffing leverage, and forecasting
• Strong familiarity with the Washington, DC government contracting ecosystem
• Comfortable influencing senior leaders without formal authority
• No security clearance required for this role today
• Agile/Scrum delivery-method experience is a plus, not required
• Federal contracting/proposal-capture know-how is the top priority
• Technical or delivery-methodology background is a plus, not a requirement
