A Proposal Pricing Analyst job is available with our manufacturing client in Middletown, CT. The individual is responsible for preparing price proposals of moderate scope and complexity. Assists in the accumulation, analysis, and presentation of data required for assignments of greater scope and complexity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Under the direction of the Proposal Manager or designee, performs proposal estimates of moderate scope and complexity. Performs assignments within the limits of established methods and techniques, referring only unusual cases or problems to supervision for direction.
• Use approved estimating methods and source data to prepare and present results in an organized format and with sufficient detail to facilitate review or be readily adaptable for inclusion into complete cost estimate summary.
• Prepare price proposals, providing maximum visibility to all technical and financial data. Requires the utilization of historical, current source data, and standards where applicable.
• Notify all support functions of impending work requirement and include copies of milestone charts with required due dates and activity time frames.
• Request quotations (with sufficient definition) for all outside services and material dollars.
• Estimate the direct labor hours for all the items on the Bill of Material that require direct labor effort. Estimate the support labor hours associated with the program/project. Estimate and develop production hours, tooling costs, engineering costs, quality costs, packaging costs, travel costs, facility costs, other costs, tooling and engineering sustaining ratios, inspection ratios, material allowance factors, program management, and configuration management.
• Prepare a detail Bill of Material.
• Upon completion of proposals, Review estimates for accuracy by compiling information from similar programs (actual and /or proposed) and compare to the proposal being quoted prior to reviewing estimates with supervision.
• Present results in an organized format and with sufficient detail to minimize supervisory review time and revision prior to submission to senior management for approval.
• Upon final pricing establishment, prepare the final proposal presentation(s) as determined necessary per procedure for proposal group supervision, senior division management, and corporate review and approval.
• Assist Contracts with negotiations, on occasion, accompanying contracts personnel to explain, discuss and/or justify proposal.
• Ensure all estimates are auditable and in accordance with U.S. Government Cost Accounting Standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
• B.S. degree in business or related discipline and 5 to 7 years’ experience in Aerospace and/or equivalent industries. Knowledge of costing and pricing estimating techniques; understanding of engineering, manufacturing and related operations; working knowledge of Cost Accounting Systems.
• Having background in US Government costing and pricing, preferably, having a four year degree in the area of Accounting, Finance, Program Management and/or Business Administration.
• A very strong background in MS Excel Application and is proficient to generate and relate to large complex Proposals. Familiarity with MS Access and MS Word
• Highly, skillful working with numbers and pay full attention to details and accuracy of estimates generated.
• Knowledgeable with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFAR (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations) requirements.
• Familiarity with MS Office and ProPricer Application.
• Familiarity Western Data System (WDS), Integrated Information Systems (IIS4) is not a requirement, but nice to have.
• Someone local to CT preferably as this is an onsite role; 5 days a week. Start and end time are flexible. 8 to 4:30 or 7:30 or 8:30 AM
