The Proposal Manager’s core function is to ensure the company's proposals are fully executed from start to finish. In this role, one is responsible for all aspects of the proposal delivery including evaluation, project kick-off, initial response and refinement. The Proposal Manager will develop and manage the repository for all proposal related documents and will create boilerplate documents for the company to use.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assembling and leading required resources, skills and matrixed support functions to develop proposal content and conformance to RFP requirements
  • Provides tech writing support to proposal efforts and engineering as needed
  • Leads and participates in color team reviews, according to Shipley standards
  • Creates and successfully executes a thorough proposal schedule
  • Creates compliance matrix and proposal outline
  • Responsible for overall content design, development and review for proposal delivery
  • Manages proposal configuration control
  • Works successfully across multiple functional groups to ensure stellar execution of all proposal activities
  • Successfully manages multiple proposal efforts at one time
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Receives instructions on new assignments, but normally follow established procedures on routine work with limited supervision
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in Federal Government proposal development using the Shipley or equivalent proposal process.
  • Basic knowledge of FAR/DFAR compliance
  • Proven experience in a rapid growth environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Experienced in the aerospace or defense industry and has a clear understanding of the Business Development life-cycle
  • Demonstrated proposal writing experience with comprehensive knowledge of compliance matrices and generating volume outlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates high caliber of communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired Qualifications

  • Current active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
  • Has effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Qualifications

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus for reviewing detailed documents
  • Must be able to participate in virtual or in-person meetings and engage in clear, effective communication
