Job summary

Sundt Enterprise in Salt Lake City, Utah, seeks an experienced Proposal Manager to lead the creation of best-in-class proposals and presentations across Transportation, Industrial, Building, and Renewables. You will guide pursuit teams, craft win strategies, and mentor proposal Specialists.

The role requires 10+ years in marketing/proposal within A/E/C, advanced Adobe Suite skills, Cosential CRM, and strong writing ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of marketing/proposal experience in A/E/C industry.
• Professional or technical certifications are a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator; Cosential (or other CRM database); and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Bachelor of marketing, English, communications, journalism, or similar; advanced degree preferred.
• Must be a skilled writer and able to effectively communicate highly technical concepts, terms and processes to varying audiences.
• Must have demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects and appropriately prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assumes overall responsibility for pursuit-related deliverables such as prequalification materials, SQQ/proposals, and presentation materials.
• Collaborates with Pursuit Leader to identify reviewers and facilitate review sessions.
• Develops content for key sections and identifies appropriate graphics.
• Implements standard pursuit management methods and Lean principles to improve pursuit planning and delivery.
• Leads the quality control process for each deliverable and resolves issues.
• Maintains Sundt brand standards and Pursuit Process Guidelines.
• Leads development and implementation of pursuit-specific win strategies and consistent messaging.
• Participates in debriefs, root-cause analysis, and lessons learned.
• Manages design and production process for deliverables with focus on quality and on-time delivery.
• Serves as subject matter expert and mentors Proposal Specialists.

Job Summary

Proposal managers are key members of our pursuit teams, working as dedicated resources within each operating group (Transportation, Industrial, Building, and Renewables) to support Sundt's efforts to win work. Leading and directing the creation of best-in-class proposals and presentations, proposal managers use their expertise to craft pursuit-specific win strategies and serve as subject matter experts, providing leadership to proposal specialists. This person will be a skilled manager with proven leadership ability and significant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assumes overall responsibility for individual pursuit-related deliverables such as prequalification materials, SQQ/proposals, and presentation materials, including the assignment of specific tasks to other pursuit team members and follow‑up to ensure completion.
2. Collaborates with Pursuit Leader to identify reviewers and facilitates review sessions.
3. Develops content for key sections, including written responses and identification of appropriate graphics.
4. Implements standard pursuit management methods, tools, techniques, and competencies, including implementing Lean principles and practices to improve pursuit planning, scheduling, and delivery results.
5. Leads the quality control process for each deliverable, including reviewing all content prior to incorporation to ensure that it meets both the client's requirements and Sundt's standards, and performing research or information‑gathering as required to resolve issues.
6. Maintains and reinforces standards set forth in Sundt's Brand Guidelines, Style Guide, Pursuit Process Guidelines, etc.
7. Manages and leads the development and implementation of pursuit‑specific win strategies including consistent messaging, layouts, and presentations of Sundt themes, ideas, skills, and capabilities.
8. Participates in debriefs, including root‑cause analysis of unsatisfactory performance and development/implementation of corrective measures, as well as identification of areas of excellence for best practices and lessons learned.
9. Provides overall management of each assigned deliverable's design and production process with responsibility for quality, scheduling, and on‑time delivery.
10. Serves as subject matter expert for pursuit‑related deliverables and provides mentoring to Proposal Specialists as appropriate. Collaborates with other internal stakeholders to educate and share industry best practices.
11. Supports Sundt's Content and Data Management efforts by capturing all pursuit‑related deliverables and information in accordance with Pursuit Process Guidelines.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. 10+ years of marketing/proposal experience in A/E/C industry.
2. Additional professional or technical certifications.
