Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Transit OE Sales and Business Development, the Proposal Manager’s primary responsibility is the preparation of tenders and proposals to customers and the management of that process until contract signature. The role involves daily coordination with finance, legal, project management, manufacturing, procurement, engineering and other departments, as well as interaction with corporate management, sister divisions, and customers to prepare and manage multi‑million dollar proposals, from opportunity identification through negotiation and project launch.

Responsibilities

• Ultimate responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness in the preparation and submission of commercial proposals to customers.
• Ensure that technical proposals are completed by engineering to support bid requirements and submitted to the customer.
• Act as the key point of contact with customers, responsible for daily interaction with commercial and technical representatives during the bid phase.
• Support and coordinate proposal activity with other Wabtec product lines.
• Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
• Prepare financial analysis, risk analysis and win strategies for bids.
• Prepare tender review packages for approval by senior management.
• Ensure bid documentation is managed systematically for transfer to the project manager at the appropriate time.
• Ensure proposal activities comply with ISO/IRIS standards.
• Prepare market analysis of opportunities and strategies to win future business.
• Track and organize competitive sales and marketing data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; a technical-related degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales and marketing; rail industry experience preferred.

Language Requirements

Proficiency in French is preferred, though not required.

Additional Information

Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met. Remote work will be considered, but relocation is preferred.

Salary range is $91,100 – $129,800. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Benefits include health, welfare, and retirement plans, and an annual bonus if eligible.
