Job summary

Gruppo AB - Energy Sustainability is seeking a Proposal Engineer to act as the technical partner to the Sales team, leading development of competitive, technically sound and commercially viable proposals for industrial energy and cogeneration projects.

The role requires coordinating with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and other stakeholders to identify optimal technical solutions aligned with AB’s objectives. 2–5 years in related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
• 2–5 years of experience in technical and commercial proposal engineering within industrial plants or process engineering environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software) and ability to read/produce technical drawings.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills for collaboration with sales, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the assigned Sales team regarding customer RFQs.
• Collect the technical information required to develop optimal technical solutions and supporting documentation; include site surveys when necessary.
• Engage the Industrial team to obtain technical and commercial product packages.
• Involve Project Engineering for applications requiring specialized engineering support.
• Develop the most effective technical and commercial proposal by integrating product documentation and pricing.

YOUR CHALLENGES

The Proposal Engineer will serve as the technical partner to the Sales organization, leading the development of competitive, technically sound, and commercially sustainable proposals for industrial energy and cogeneration projects.

The role will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and other stakeholders to identify optimal technical solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting AB's business objectives.

Key responsabilities:

• Coordinate with the assigned Sales team regarding customer Requests for Quotation


• Collect the technical information required to develop the optimal technical solution and supporting documentation, including site surveys and field visits when necessary


• Engage the Industrial team to obtain the technical and commercial product package


• Involve the Project Engineering Department, for applications requiring dedicated specialized engineering support


• Develop the most effective technical and commercial proposal by integrating the product documentation provided by the Industrial team, obtaining quotations for critical equipment, sizing materials, preparing technical drawings, defining technical specifications, and establishing the intercompany pricing for the Integration Business Line


• Work alongside the Sales team throughout customer discussions and negotiations by providing technical and commercial justification for the proposed solution


• Prepare the project budget for Business Lines and hand it over to the assigned Project Manager following contract award


• Scouting and research of new potential suppliers


• Support the development and maintenance of proposal tools, templates, and documentation packages used by the Proposal Engineering team.
