Job summary

LabConnect is seeking a detail‑oriented professional to support proposals and budget management within the clinical trials space. You will prepare quotes, reconcile budgets, and assist the Proposal team in developing competitive study proposals.

Role requires collaboration with Business Development, familiarity with Salesforce/SharePoint, and ability to interpret complex protocols. This is a remote US position with potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in science, business, or marketing; at least 1 year in pharma/clinical research or similar.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce and SharePoint experience preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical/protocol documents; strong written communication.
• Experience in budgeting and creating proposals with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations for protocols, bid requests, study revisions and additions using pricing tools.
• Complete budget-to-actual reconciliations at predefined time points during studies.
• Assist in recommendations on proposals based on financial and operational criteria.
• Coordinate and facilitate quotation generation with staff and partner laboratories.
• Update Salesforce and ensure departmental information accuracy.
• Shadow or assist senior colleagues on medium-to-high complexity opportunities.
• Prepare departmental reports and provide back-up for other functions.

Overview

We are an independent, global, one-stop-shop focused on delivering Central Laboratory Services that are tailor-made, timely and flexible to meet the evolving study demands of traditional to increasingly complex trials. Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.

Job Summary

The following duties are normal for this position; however, they are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations for protocols, bid requests, study revisions and additions using the company's pricing tools.
• Complete budget to actual reconciliations at predetermined time points over the course of awarded studies.
• Assist in making recommendations on desirable proposals based on established financial and operational criteria, as required.
• Inquire with Business Development Directors to ensure that clinical study quotes prepared by Proposal team members are complete and address the client's needs.
• Coordinate and facilitate quotation generation to ensure smooth and timely business process flow by working with appropriate staff and partner laboratories.
• Assist with proposal tracking.
• Update SalesForce, as needed, and ensure accuracy of departmental information.
• May (based on business unit and/or team expectation) be responsible for managing opportunities of low to medium complexity.
• May (based on business unit and/or team expectation) shadow and/or assist more senior colleagues on opportunities of medium to high complexity.
• Assist in preparation of departmental reports, as assigned.
• Provide back-up assistance for other departmental functions, when needed.
• Perform all other related duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in science, business, or marketing related discipline. At least 1 year of experience within a pharmaceutical; clinical research or healthcare environment, preferably in a Proposals role or very similar. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Skills and Ability

• Ability to perform calculations and manage budgets. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to budget management for clinical trials.
• Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint, as well as an aptitude for learning new database software quickly. SalesForce and SharePoint experience preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or clinical research protocols. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues and clients.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
