Job summary

SAFEbuilt seeks a Code Enforcement Officer for the Bedford County area, PA. You will respond to code violations, conduct inspections, and prepare enforcement documentation. The role requires strong communication and the ability to interpret city codes and site plans.

Qualifications

• Administrative experience and proficient use of computer devices and MS Office.
• Experience with building, zoning, construction, municipal work, or related field preferred.
• ICC or PA UCC certification is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate violations of Municipal, Land Development and Property Maintenance Codes.
• Notify issues in writing, by phone, in person and electronically.
• Schedule and perform property maintenance inspections to meet standards.
• Prepare records and reports on abatements, court actions, and inspections.
• Compile documentation for and issue summons.
• Support the Assistant Director in enforcing Zoning Ordinances.
