Job summary

Ryan Specialty, LLC is seeking an early-career insurance professional to join our Property Underwriting team in Chicago. The role targets an Underwriting Assistant or recent graduate building toward underwriting, with 1–2 years of property underwriting experience welcomed.

You will evaluate property risks, support new and renewal business, and prepare accounts for underwriting review while developing expertise in risk selection, pricing, and coverage within a hybrid Chicago schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant insurance experience will also be considered.
• We are open to candidates at multiple early-career stages, including Underwriting Assistants or others seeking to develop into an underwriting role.
• Recent graduates with coursework or internships in commercial insurance are welcome.
• Underwriter Trainee / Underwriter I with ~1–2 years of commercial property underwriting experience is considered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate property risks and support new and renewal business.
• Prepare accounts for underwriting review and collaboration with experienced underwriters.
