Job summary

Ryan Specialty seeks a Senior Brokerage Assistant to support a Property & Construction brokerage team in Chicago. You will coordinate renewals, process policy and binder documentation, assist with quoting, and support accounting and filing tasks to ensure accurate client service.

Ideal candidates are new grads or early-career insurance professionals with strong organization, detail orientation, and communication skills, and who hold or will obtain a Property & Casualty license within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Active Property & Casualty license or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or related fields are a plus.
• Equivalent professional experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support brokers with the day-to-day servicing and management of commercial Property and Construction accounts.
• Prepare renewal marketing materials, cover letters, submissions, and other client-facing documentation.
• Review and process policy documentation, endorsements, binders, and related account materials to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform policy and binder checking and assist with quality control efforts across new and renewal business.
• Maintain accurate client, policy, and transaction information within agency management and carrier systems.
• Coordinate renewal activities and assist with the collection and organization of underwriting information.
• Support accounting and invoicing processes, including premium reconciliation and documentation management.
• Assist with quoting activities and carrier communications as directed by the brokerage team.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries from brokers, carriers, and clients in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain organized electronic files and documentation in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with brokers and other team members to ensure service deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Provide administrative and operational support for special projects and other business initiatives as needed.

Position Summary

Position Summary The Senior Brokerage Assistant plays a key role in supporting a growing Property and Construction brokerage team by managing the operational and administrative activities that drive exceptional client service and account management. This position is responsible for coordinating renewals, processing policy and binder documentation, assisting with quoting activities, supporting accounting functions, maintaining accurate records, and serving as a liaison between brokers, carriers, and clients. What will your job entail?

Work Experience

New grad or early career within insurance, brokerage, underwriting, or related professional experience preferred.

Recent graduates with an interest in insurance, risk management, finance, business, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Experience in wholesale brokerage, retail brokerage, underwriting support, or carrier operations is a plus.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Licenses

Competitive Compensation

The target hourly rate range for this position is $28.00 - $36.06 per hour.

The wage range considers many factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
