The Humboldt County Assessor's Office in Eureka, CA is seeking an Extra Help Property Transfer Assistant to support recording deeds, reviewing transfer documents, and performing title searches to determine reappraisal status. Qualifications

Two years of office support experience with knowledge of legal descriptions of real property and property maps, and/or familiarity with the title transfer process.
Ability to interpret property descriptions and maps and to research and organize records.
Familiarity with property tax assessment basics and recording procedures.

Responsibilities

Analyze recorded deeds and title documents to determine reappraisal status under supervision.
Review property transfer records, update maps, and enter transfer information in records.
Provide information to the public over the counter and by phone regarding titles and reassessment rules.
Organize work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines; operate standard office equipment.
