Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a Regional Facilities Maintenance Associate to perform routine on-site facility inspections and oversee the condition of facilities across a region. You will complete basic repairs including plumbing, lighting, drywall, tile, and furniture, and troubleshoot maintenance issues to support a safe, welcoming environment for members and the community.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a repair or maintenance worker.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for measurements and unit conversions.
• Ability to travel to assigned facilities.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine on-site facility inspections and monitor the condition of assigned facilities within a region; make or recommend repairs.
• Complete basic repairs including plumbing, replacing light ballasts & bulbs, drywall repair, tile repair or replacement, furniture & toy repair; troubleshoot maintenance problems.
• Contribute to the Y member experience by ensuring facilities are safe, clean and welcoming.

How This Role Contributes To The Y’s Mission

As a Y Regional Facilities Maintenance Associate, you will be responsible for performing routine on-site facility inspections and will monitor the condition of assigned facilities within a region as well as make or recommend repairs. You will complete basic repairs including basic plumbing, replacing light ballasts & bulbs, basic drywall repair, tile repair or replacement, furniture & toy repair and you will troubleshoot facility maintenance problems. This Work Is Right For You If You Have

• At least 2 years of prior experience as a repair or maintenance worker
• The ability to exercise common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• The ability to travel with reliable transportation to assigned facilities
• A high school diploma or GED
