Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years post-secondary in business/finance/political science/accounting, or 3 years combined education/experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in banking, cashiering, cash handling, or bookkeeping.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Successful completion of New Mexico Certified Treasury Official Certification within 1.5 years of hire.
• Ability to maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license.
• Knowledge of New Mexico property tax rules and public records handling.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply NM property tax rules and regulations for complex taxpayer matters.
• Process and record high-volume property tax payments and daily deposits.
• Prepare payment adjustment forms for refunds and voids.
• Investigate and resolve complex taxpayer questions and prepare reports.
