Job summary

Hall County Government in Gainesville, GA seeks a Property Tax Manager to lead the property tax division, supervise staff, and ensure accuracy in tax processing and compliance with state laws. The role manages the annual county digest, coordinates with the Finance Department, Board of Education, and other offices, and oversees training and software conversions.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience, including 2 in supervision, plus MS Office and SQL Server

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related fields.
Four years’ related experience, with at least two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
Ability to learn Microsoft SQL Server

Responsibilities

Manage staff and oversee property tax collection and related functions.
Coordinate workloads, scheduling, implementing recommendations, and staff training.
Ensure compliance with state laws, rules and regulations governing property taxes.
Operate property tax software and train staff on new systems.
Prepare and balance the annual County Digest and related tax documentation.
Generate tax lists, liens, and oversee tax sale advertising.
