This role offers hands‑on exposure to valuation analysis, assessment strategy, regulatory environments, and cross‑functional business decision‑making within a complex and highly visible operating environment.

Highlights
  • Own and manage property tax responsibilities for a portfolio of high‑value energy assets.
  • Develop expertise in valuation methodologies, assessment practices, property tax strategy, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner closely with Development, Operations, Finance, Commercial, Accounting, and Tax teams on business‑critical initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from development and construction through operations and long‑term forecasting.
  • Join a highly collaborative team where analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and commercial awareness are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze property valuations, assessments, and tax obligations across a designated portfolio of energy and infrastructure assets.
  • Perform valuation analyses utilizing discounted cash flow (DCF), direct capitalization, replacement cost, and comparable sales methodologies.
  • Review assessment notices, property tax filings, and supporting valuation data to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for potential savings.
  • Assist in developing assessment strategies and supporting negotiations with local assessors and taxing authorities.
  • Prepare financial analyses and forecasting models to estimate property tax expenses and support budgeting processes.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assessment practices, and legislative changes that may impact property tax liabilities.
  • Collaborate with Development teams to evaluate property tax implications for new projects, acquisitions, and capital investments.
  • Prepare internal reports, presentations, and decision‑support materials for business leaders and senior stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, appraisers, attorneys, and tax professionals on valuation, assessment, and appeal matters.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, data management efforts, and reporting enhancements across the broader property tax function.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or another analytical discipline.
  • Up to two years of relevant professional experience; strong recent graduates will also be considered.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex financial and valuation concepts.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large datasets and financial models.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with evolving business needs.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to develop expertise in new subject areas.
  • Experience with property tax, valuation, appraisal, real estate economics, energy markets, or regulatory analysis is helpful but not required.

They will enjoy solving complex valuation challenges, interpreting large amounts of information, and partnering with stakeholders across multiple business functions. This role is well suited to someone who combines strong financial and quantitative skills with attention to detail, sound judgment, and a desire to develop expertise in a specialized area with significant business impact.
