Job description

Property Senior Litigation Specialist

Zurich North America is hiring a Property Senior Litigation Specialist to join our Claims team! We are open to hiring talent in Schaumburg, IL, or Addison, TX.

Under limited direction, the specialist evaluates legal liability and actively pursues, negotiates, and resolves Property subrogation claims. When on-site investigation is necessary, they secure additional information from the referring office. The role involves handling complex assignments requiring specialized knowledge and managing multi-line and multi-jurisdictional losses.

The responsibilities include:

1. Directing the investigation of property claims.
2. Evaluating legal liability and actively pursuing, negotiating, and resolving multi-line/multi-jurisdictional subrogation claims.
3. Securing additional information from claim offices when onsite investigation is needed.
4. Communicating with insured parties, witnesses, attorneys, and underwriters to exchange information.
5. Managing litigation processes.
6. Filing arbitration claims.

Basic qualifications include:

1. Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience in the Insurance Industry, or
2. High School Diploma or Equivalent with 7+ years of experience, or
3. Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 5+ years of experience.

Additional requirements:

• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of commercial lines insurance laws and jurisdictional regulations.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Property claims in relevant lines of business.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Organizational and detail-oriented skills.
