Job summary

EMC Insurance Companies is seeking a Property Risk Control Field Technical Specialist to conduct on-site property inspections and provide risk evaluations to support underwriting decisions. The role focuses on fire protection, NFPA guidelines, CAT exposures, and building construction integrity across assigned territories.

The candidate will prepare detailed survey reports, develop PML/NLE/MFL figures, and collaborate with underwriting teams to recommend cost-effective risk improvements.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in large property loss control or risk assessment.
• CFPS, CSP or equivalent preferred.
• Emphasis on hazard identification in middle-market, large accounts and specialty space.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site commercial property inspections to evaluate risk exposures and controls.
• Assess hazards, fire protection, CAT exposures, crime and liability risks.
• Prepare comprehensive survey reports with diagrams, photos and risk improvement recommendations.
• Develop Property Loss Expectancies (PML, NLE, MFL) and support underwriting decisions.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams and train staff.
