Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a qualified Right of Way Agent to join our Transportation Group in Staunton, VA. This role negotiates fee simple and easement acquisitions and provides comprehensive support to the Right of Way team throughout the property rights acquisition process for transportation and utility projects.

Essential duties include acquiring property interests, negotiating with owners, reviewing legal descriptions and plans, coordinating with project teams, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Right of Way work and negotiations.
• Knowledge of fee simple and easement acquisitions.
• Familiarity with state and local right-of-way procedures and laws.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Acquire property interests for public infrastructure projects.
• Conduct negotiations with property owners and tenants.
• Review right-of-way plans, deeds, and title documents.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and attorneys.
• Prepare and maintain right-of-way documentation and reports.
• Explain acquisition needs and valuation methods to stakeholders.
• Support condemnation processes and liaise with legal counsel.
• Attend meetings and site visits as required.
