Job summary

Newark Housing Authority is seeking an Assistant Asset Manager who supports the Asset Manager and Operations. You will screen applicants, decide on eligibility, coordinate unit offers and showings, and assist with pre-leasing, move-in, and rent collection reports.

You will maintain files, communicate with staff and external agencies, and help prepare reports while learning asset-management duties to help meet occupancy and revenue goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required; progress in real estate or admin is a plus.
• Experience interviewing, securing, and verifying information for housing applicants.
• Strong customer service and communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Review resident eligibility for NHA housing services.
• Conduct applicant interviews and determine program eligibility.
• Process recertifications and maintain HUD PIC data with high accuracy.
• Assist Asset Manager with lease-up processes and tenant files.
