Job summary

The Cesar Chavez Foundation is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Janitor to join our team. The role reports to the Property Manager and supports a range of maintenance, janitorial, and coordination tasks to keep the property in excellent condition and respond to resident service requests in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (2) years general maintenance experience including plastering, painting, basic plumbing (unclogging toilets/drains) and carpentry.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Able to communicate effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Effectively manage and solve practical problems with limited instructions.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform property maintenance and repairs as assigned by the Property Manager (plastering, painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
• Observe safety procedures and wear PPE; secure areas and use proper signage.
• Complete janitorial duties in common areas and vacant units as requested.
• Prioritize and schedule resident service requests with the Property Manager.
• Prepare properties for inspections by regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate and monitor vendors or outside contractors.
