Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking Maintenance Technicians in Michigan to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities, including home repairs, groundskeeping, and safety checks to keep streets, facilities and amenities in top condition.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to work outdoors and on-call.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months in apartment/manufactured housing maintenance experience preferred.
• 6 months snow removal experience preferred.
• 6 months general maintenance knowledge and repair experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
• Ability to work on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily cleanup of common areas and streets.
• Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities.
• Inspect irrigation systems and perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain vacant sites, remove trash, and support lawn care.
• Plow snow and treat surfaces when applicable.
• Test and monitor well-water or sewer systems as applicable.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Keep community areas presentable per curb appeal standards.
• Supervise contractors as needed.
• Maintain pools, vehicles, and equipment.
