Job summary

Deister Machine Company is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician in Fort Wayne, IN to maintain facilities and perform a wide range of repair tasks. Responsibilities include snow removal, salting, minor structural repairs, painting, and equipment upkeep.

The role requires basic measurement reading, proactivity, good attendance, teamwork, and real-time problem solving. Candidates should be willing to handle carpentry, electrical, flooring, and plumbing tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plows snow from drives and parking lots, shovels snow from walks and driveways.
• Spreads salt / sand on all drives, parking lots and sidewalks.
• Maintains drives and lots, including minor repairs; potholes, grading, etc.
• Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks. Paints fences, outbuildings, and interiors as required.
• Remodels offices and other areas as required. May require carpentry, electrical, flooring, and plumbing work.
• Maintains and makes repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreaders, snow removal equipment, and all grounds‑keeping equipment.
• Cleans and replaces HVAC filters.
• Replaces lights, switches, emergency lighting, etc. both indoor and outdoor, as well as some wiring needs.
• Performs minor roof and gutter repairs. May require working from a boom lift.
• Moves furniture as needed.
• Maintains outdoor recreational equipment. Installs related recreational structures.
• Performs all miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Maintains the properties and facilities by performing the following duties, as well as many related duties that are not listed.
