Job description

Express Employment in Broward County South, FL is urgently recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor to join a non-profit organization in Hollywood, FL. The MS oversees preventative maintenance and makes general building repairs at their assigned building(s). The MS will lead and supervise a maintenance crew in repairing physical structures, equipment, and grounds. The MS will be required to work at any campus and will also have to be on-call alternate weekends when needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Use of Emaint system to receive and complete work orders
• Complete weekly and monthly checks/inspections of company supplied vehicle
• Notify Maintenance Manager of any issues or problems
• Lead, train, and evaluate staff
• Handle discipline of employees in accordance with company policy

Core Duties/Responsibilities:

• Lead a crew of maintenance workers in general maintenance of company properties
• Perform work on HVAC/electrical issues for residential or commercial properties across all campuses
• Conduct preventive and routine maintenance following OSHA guidelines and building codes
• Lockout or tag out unsafe or broken equipment as needed
• Perform repairs to building fixtures and plumbing, clean electrical fixtures, replace bulbs
• Estimate material requirements and tools needed for jobs, receive work orders and interpret sketches or prints
• Set up and dismantle structures, refinish walls/structures
• Install wood, metal parts, or glass, and replace broken glass
• Erect or dismantle roofing or siding, including scaffolding
• Coordinate work priorities with Maintenance Manager, determine supplies and team skills needed
• Obtain work assignments, contact requesters, and determine repair types
• Paint interior and exterior walls and trim as directed
• Maintain tools and equipment, store tools securely
• Monitor for machine malfunctions, discuss operation variations, and diagnose issues
• Perform preventive maintenance checks, report findings, and repair or replace parts
• Notify Maintenance Manager of recurring issues and supply needs
• Assist in maintaining inventory of tools and equipment
• Conduct routine safety and maintenance checks of facilities
• Assist in long-term planning for projects and property improvements
• Mentor clients in the Maintenance department
• Keep Maintenance Manager informed, provide reports as needed
• Maintain positive relationships with Guest Services to ensure safety and efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED, with on-the-job training in construction, AC, or plumbing
• Valid Florida Driver’s License (max 4 points)
• Maintenance and HVAC certifications are a plus
• At least three years of building maintenance or construction experience, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, A/C
• 1-3 years in a maintenance supervisory role
• Knowledge of construction standards and ability to use manual, battery-operated, and electrical tools
• Ability to read blueprints and follow written and oral instructions in English
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and electronic devices

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb ladders, and carry objects up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in overhead structures, confined spaces, and perform analysis and repairs
• Visual, auditory, and speech abilities to interact with staff and the public
• Mobility to move around facilities unassisted
