Job summary

Children's Rescue Fund is seeking a dedicated custodial staff member to maintain clean and safe facilities across our properties in the New York City area.

The role requires lifting up to 30 pounds, long hours, and travel between sites. You will perform cleaning, minor repairs, and prepare units for occupancy while collaborating with maintenance and social services teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of custodial services experience.
• Experience in a business or social service environment preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean office and property delivery areas.
• Repair and maintain property and perform minor repairs.
• Assist in unloading and storage of deliveries.
• Remove garbage from property and office areas.
• Clean and mop floors; prepare areas for waxing as required.
• Assist maintenance staff in moving furniture.
• Clear sidewalks and entrances of snow; apply salt and keep areas dry during inclement weather.
• Prepare units for occupancy.
• Report safety observations to supervisory staff.
• Overtime is a requirement.
• Serve on-call for one-week period each quarter.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure service delivery.
• Other duties designated by supervisor.
