Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund in New York, NY seeks a hands-on custodial/maintenance professional to support daily operations across office and residential properties. Responsibilities include cleaning, minor repairs, snow removal, unit preparation, and coordination with facilities teams.

The role requires the ability to work extended hours, participate in on-call rotations, and travel within the NYC area. A high school diploma and custodial experience are preferred; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of custodial/maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients.
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic computer skills helpful.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean office and property delivery areas.
• Repair and maintain property and perform minor repairs.
• Assist in unloading and storage of deliveries.
• Remove garbage from property and office areas.
• Clean and mop floors; prepare floors for stripping and waxing.
• Assist maintenance staff with moving furniture.
• Clear sidewalks and entrances of snow; apply salt and keep areas dry.
• Prepare units for occupancy.
• Clean and store tools and equipment; assist with painting as needed.
• Report observations affecting safety and security to supervisors.
• Overtime is a requirement.
• Support on-call rotations and special projects as needed.
• Facilitate effective communication with staff.
