Job summary

Childrens Rescue Fund in New York, NY is seeking a Custodian (Lenox) to maintain a clean, healthy environment for clients, staff, and volunteers by performing a variety of custodial tasks.

Duties include daily cleaning of offices, bathrooms, kitchens and common areas; prepare rooms for new clients; minor repairs; move furniture; unload deliveries; and report safety observations to the Operations Manager. Requires a high school diploma and at least six months of custodial experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of custodial/maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans offices, bathrooms, kitchens and common areas daily.
• Repairs and cleans rooms for new clients and ensures furnishings and supplies are adequate.
• Performs minor repairs and coordinates with management on work orders.
• Unloads and stores deliveries; moves furniture and equipment as needed.
• Removes garbage daily and ensures proper disposal.
• Cleans and maintains floors; prepares floors for stripping and waxing.
• Performs minor plumbing, electrical, plastering and painting duties.
• Responds to emergency maintenance calls; on-call rotating schedule.
• Reports safety observations to the Operations Manager.
• Assists with corrective action documentation and other duties as assigned.
