American Avenue is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect, repair, and maintain homes across Peoria and surrounding areas. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, and coordinate moves between properties using handheld devices for real-time updates.

The role emphasizes ownership, clear communication, and dependable service to tenants. Requirements include owning tools, having a truck or van, and a valid driver’s license, with advanced plumbing/HVAC certifications

Qualifications

• Proficient in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work and property turns.
• Advanced plumbing and HVAC certifications are highly preferred.
• Strong communication for tenant and team interactions.
• Must own tools and have a truck or van.
• Valid driver’s license and nearby residence required.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across homes.
• Travel daily between properties within the metro area.
• Inspect properties, secure homes, and perform turnover checks.
• Handle pre-renovation repairs and basic utility inspections.
• Maintain work orders and documentation via handheld devices.
• Communicate timelines and ensure completion.
