Job summary

Check Defense is seeking an experienced Property / Logistics Manager to oversee all logistics, GFP, CAP, inventory, and government property accountability for a U.S. Army UAS support contract at Fort Huachuca. You will lead logistics personnel and coordinate with maintenance, operations, IT, and Government stakeholders to ensure readiness and regulatory compliance.

Position Overview

Check Defense isa fast-growing federal contractor seeking an experienced Property / Logistics Manager to oversee all logistics, supply chain, inventory management, government property accountability, warehouse operations, and transportation functions supporting a U.S. Army Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Training, Maintenance, Logistics, and Mission Support Services contract.

The Property / Logistics Manager is responsible for effectively managing, controlling, accounting for, and distributing Government Furnished Property (GFP), Contractor Acquired Property (CAP), aircraft components, repair parts, support equipment, tools, and mission-essential supplies. The successful candidate will lead logistics personnel and coordinate closely with maintenance, operations, information technology, quality control, and Government stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted mission support and regulatory compliance.

This position serves as the principal logistics and property management authority for the contract and plays a critical role in maintaining aircraft readiness, operational efficiency, and contractual compliance.

Duties and responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and manage all logistics and supply chain operations supporting contract requirements.
• Develop and implement logistics management processes to support maintenance, training, operational, and administrative activities.
• Ensure continuous availability of repair parts, consumables, support equipment, and mission-essential resources.
• Coordinate logistics support requirements with Government representatives, Program Management, and functional managers.
• Develop logistics performance metrics and monitor effectiveness of supply support programs.
• Ensure logistics operations comply with contract requirements, Army regulations, and company policies.

• Serve as the Government Property Manager for all Government Furnished Property (GFP), Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), and Contractor Acquired Property (CAP).
• Maintain accountability and visibility of all contract property assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Conduct inventories, reconciliations, audits, and property inspections.
• Ensure accurate property records are maintained within approved property management systems.
• Investigate property discrepancies, losses, damages, and destruction incidents.
• Coordinate annual inventories and Government property inspections.

• Manage inventory control processes for aircraft components, repair parts, tools, support equipment, and supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and forecast material requirements based on maintenance schedules and operational demand.
• Coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely acquisition of required materials and services.
• Establish inventory controls to minimize shortages, overstock situations, and excess inventory.
• Ensure proper receiving, storage, handling, and issuance of inventory items.

• Oversee warehouse operations, storage facilities, tool rooms, and material handling activities.
• Ensure materials are properly stored, secured, identified, and protected from damage or deterioration.
• Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Government property regulations, and contractual requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field. Equivalent military or commercial logistics experience may be substituted for education.
• Minimum 7 years of logistics, supply chain, inventory management, or property accountability experience.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience overseeing logistics or property management operations.
• Experience managing Government property, inventory control systems, warehouse operations, and supply support activities.
• Experience supporting military, aviation, maintenance, logistics, or government services contracts.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, asset accountability, and supply chain operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S. Army Aviation, TRADOC, USAACE, or UAS operations.
• Experience managing Government Furnished Property (GFP) under FAR Part 45 requirements.
• Experience supporting aviation maintenance logistics and aircraft parts management.
• Certified Professional Property Specialist (CPPS) or Certified Professional Property Administrator (CPPA).
• APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• Familiarity with Army logistics systems and automated inventory management systems.
• Prior military logistics, aviation maintenance, or supply experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in office, warehouse, maintenance, and outdoor operational environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and conduct physical inventories for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment and warehouse systems as required.
• Ability to obtain installation access and work in secure Government facilities.
