The Property Support Assistant assists with equipment identification, surplus coordination, and locating missing government property to ensure full accountability and compliance with NIH property management requirements. The role also supports the Property Accountability Officer in maintaining accurate records and performing inventory-related tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum education of high school diploma.
• 4+ years’ experience providing support related activities, or 2 years with an Associate’s, or no experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of federal property management regulations and inventory processes.
• Ability to perform physical verification of equipment in laboratory settings.

Responsibilities

• Identify new equipment and determine decal requirements; coordinate tagging with the PAO.
• Conduct on-site reviews to identify surplus and prepare documentation for surplus processing.
• Assist in locating missing equipment during inventory cycles and verify placement.
• Document findings and support inventory corrections and accountability.
