Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Police Department – Property Control Unit seeks a Property Control Supervisor to supervise staff handling receipt, storage, and disposition of property and evidence, ensuring policy compliance and high-quality work. Minimum qualifications include a HS diploma, 3 years in property/evidence control, 1 year of supervisory experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Texas procedures, 5 years of related experience, cash handling, MS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED with supplemental training in accounting, inventory management, property control procedures.
• Three (3) years of property and evidence control experience
• One (1) year of administrative or lead supervisory responsibilities
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff; prioritize and assign work; conduct performance evaluations; ensure staff is trained.
• Establish schedules and methods for property and evidence control services; allocate resources accordingly
• Monitor quality and efficiency of property control programs; drive continuous improvement
• Conduct safety inspections; monitor alarm systems; ensure security of evidence and property
• Ensure compliance with rules governing release of property to labs, courts, or agencies
• Determine final disposition of property and prepare disposal paperwork
• Respond to Public Information Requests, Court Expunctions and information requests
