Job summary

Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an Office Claims Representative to resolve property damage and injury claims. You will verify coverage, determine liability, evaluate damages and negotiate settlements with insureds and third parties.

The role requires 0–2 years of related experience, High School or better (Bachelor's preferred) and the ability to obtain adjuster licenses within one year. A hybrid home/office schedule is offered and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years relatable experience.
• Must be able to obtain required adjuster licenses in applicable states within one year of hire.
• Must be able to obtain appraiser license for FL & SC within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Analyze policy contracts to determine coverage.
• Negotiate fair settlement with insured and third parties and issue payment.
• Collect settlement documents and prepare status reports for file documentation.
• Investigate the facts surrounding the claim by using various types of communication to determine liability.
• Prepare status reports to the District Claims Manager and/or Office Claims Supervisor in a timeline designated by those individuals.
• Assist in catastrophe claims operations as needed.
• Attend training sessions to gain the skills and ability to perform the functions of a Claims Representative.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
