Job summary

Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking a Property Claims Adjuster for two openings in Nebraska—Central Nebraska and the panhandle. You will inspect, investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle property claims, interpreting policies and determining coverages while maintaining a service-minded approach.

Ideal candidates have college or equivalent, knowledge in insurance, construction, or ag equipment, and be able to work in various weather, climb ladders, and travel with overnight stays.

Qualifications

• College or equivalent required- claims experience a plus.
• Insurance, construction, or Ag and Ag equipment knowledge preferred.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and a good work ethic.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Must be able to work under all kinds of weather conditions and fully appraise all physical aspects of the property and buildings, which includes climbing on ladders.
• A valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records are required.
• Some travel with overnight stays.
• Must attend training schools as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle assigned property claims.
• Investigate the cause of the loss, interpret the policy, and determine whether the loss is covered.
• Determine the value of loss and assist in setting reasonable reserves.
• Maintain service-oriented relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, claimants, policyholders, engineers, restoration specialists, general contractors, attorneys, and others.
