Responsibilities

  • Manage all client information in Applied Epic to ensure accuracy and currency.
  • Prepare written correspondence and reports; communicate with clients, insurers and staff.
  • Collect and organize underwriting information for renewal strategy meetings (exposure schedules, loss runs, summaries).
  • Assist in obtaining and coordinating responses to loss control inspection reports.
  • Prepare Acords and insurance company applications as required.
  • Support in insurance program marketing submissions and renewals.
  • Review quotes, proposals, and rating worksheets for accuracy and terms.
  • Determine premium payment terms; obtain premium finance quotes when needed.
  • Support renewal proposals and present them to clients.
  • Manage invoicing and accounts receivable aging; raise issues with the team as needed to avoid policy cancellation.

Job description

The Account Manager’s responsibilities focus on insurance policy administration and related client services delivery. Working collaboratively with the team and provides day-to-day administrative management of their client assignments, including but not limited to gathering and organizing insurance policy renewal information; responding in a timely manner to all client service requests (e.g. certificates of insurance, ID cards, insurance policy changes/endorsements); client invoicing and accounts receivable management; and policy delivery. The Account Manager may be asked to participate in the completion of client risk assessments and the development of insurance policy terms and conditions. The Account Manager participates in insurance policy review and audits for both existing and prospective clients. While the Account Manager will remain responsible for the delivery of all client service, they will take the lead in delegating and coordinating the work of the Account Manager(s) assigned to their team(s). Additionally, the Account Manager will take an active role in supporting new business development and sales.

The Account Manager reports to the assigned Branch Leader for all client service responsibilities and to the Operations Manager for Palmer & Cay workflows and standard operating procedures.

The Account Manager will have a comprehensive knowledge of property & casualty insurance and experience in efficiently and accurately servicing property & casualty clients. Account Managers will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently; managing their work to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.

  • Manage all client information in Applied Epic to assure accurate and current information is maintained at all times.
  • Prepare written correspondence and reports as needed. Communicate effectively with clients, insurance company and Palmer & Cay staff.
  • Collect and organize all required underwriting information including exposure schedules, carrier loss run and client loss summaries so they are ready for use in client strategy meetings and marketing efforts 120 days prior to policy renewal dates. Update all underwriting information as necessary through the renewal marketing process.
  • Assist in obtaining and coordinating responses to loss control inspection reports.
  • Prepare all required Acord and/or insurance company applications.
  • Support in the preparation and presentation of insurance program marketing specifications/submissions.
  • Support in the review of insurance company quotes, proposals, rating worksheets, and insurance policy audits for accuracy and compliance with requested terms/conditions.
  • Determine premium payment terms and, when insurance carrier terms are not available, and obtain premium finance quotes.
  • Support with the preparation of insurance program renewal proposals. Participate in the presentation of insurance program renewal proposals to clients.
  • Manage all invoicing of Clients, including monitoring Accounts Receivable Aging schedules; communicate problems to the team in a timely manner to minimize problems and the potential for policy cancellation for non-payment of premium. Assist with resolution of client/carrier accounting issues.
  • Monitor completion of requests from Clients for policy changes/endorsements, Certificates of Insurance, and Auto ID cards, including the invoicing of additional or return premiums as required, by Account Manager(s) or Associate Account Manager(s).
  • Review non-standard certificate of insurance requests.
  • Assist in the review of client contractual insurance requirements.
  • Maintain an “Open Items” inventory of services commitments, including a diary of completed activities for use in communicating client service accomplishments during annual stewardship meetings.
  • Maintain the current client “Schedule of Insurance”.
  • Keep a record of all policy expiration dates for assigned clients and coordinate with the team on renewal planning/strategy.
  • Monitor client interactions to identify changes that may affect the existing insurance coverage or create a need to new/additional insurance coverage.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationship with clients, insurance company personnel, and Palmer & Cay associates; work with Management Operations Leader to resolve issues.
  • Maintain client and Palmer & Cay confidentiality.
  • Take proactive responsibility in pursuing training needed to improve skills required for success in the position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
