Duties:
Manage property casualty and 1st party property cases from initial filing through resolution.
Supervise and mentor junior staff and attorneys.
Handle discovery processes, including taking and defending depositions.
Draft legal documents such as petitions, complaints, motions, and briefs with minimal supervision.
Prepare and manage cases for trial, collaborating with senior attorneys as necessary.
Engage in litigation strategy development to ensure successful case outcomes.
Learn and participate in the business side of practicing law, including client interactions and case management.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Property Casualty, 1st Party Property, or Civil Litigation.
Experience in managing cases in both state and federal courts.
Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
Experience handling discovery, depositions, and trial preparation independently.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois (additional state licenses a plus but not required).
Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in learning the business side of law practice.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active and valid license to practice law in Illinois (other state licenses a plus).
Skills:
Expertise in Property Casualty, 1st Party Property, or Civil Litigation.
Strong trial preparation and courtroom experience.
Exceptional written communication skills for drafting legal documents.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Proficiency in case management and legal research.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
