Job summary

Pulaski County Government is seeking a detail-oriented clerk in the Assessor’s Office to assist taxpayers with personal property assessments and related tax information. You will enter data, verify values, and respond to questions while maintaining records accurately.

The role involves researching ownership information, handling appeals scheduling, and supporting field collections. High school diploma or GED required; some property assessment experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of records maintained for personal/property assessment.
• Knowledge of value-determination methods for taxation.
• Familiarity with office procedures, equipment, and terminology.
• Basic mathematics knowledge.
• Some knowledge of real estate deeds and titles record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Obtain correct and complete assignment information for personal property; enter into computer system.
• Print assessment verification documents and mail as needed.
• Answer taxpayer questions about assessment deadlines and procedures.
• Enter partial business assessments per taxpayer request for licensing vehicles.
• Identify values for property not listed in the database per State guidelines.
• Enter business personal property assessments into the computer systems.
• Research records to obtain ownership information, real estate records, and land boundaries.
• Copy assessments, legal descriptions, and maps for public requests.
• Complete name/address change forms for distribution to divisions.
• Complete hearing request forms to schedule informal/formal appeals; enter data into CAMA scheduler.
• Receive information from field collections and review for accuracy.
• Enter data from field collections into CAMA system.
• Draft residential/commercial improvements into CAMA using APEX format.
