Job summary

Doña Ana County seeks a Residential Appraiser to appraise all residential and commercial properties for valuation, under the supervision of the Residential Appraisal Supervisor. You will perform field inspections, collect data, and analyze sales data to support accurate values according to state statutes.

The role requires conducting value investigations, defending values before the valuation protest board, assisting the public in person, on the phone, or in the field, and using maps,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in real estate appraisals or similar capacity.
• Background check and driver's license record; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Must have a valid unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Appraise residential and commercial properties; field inspection and data collection.
• Review and analyze value and sales data; justify valuation or corrections as needed.
• Defend values before the valuation protest board in unresolved cases.
• Assist the public in the office, by telephone and in the field regarding valuations or policies.
• Read maps, blueprints, and utilize office software to plan daily work; prepare reports.
