Job summary

NAI UCR Properties in Flowood, MS is hiring a Property Accountant to own property-level accounting and lease administration for about 45 properties and 200 tenants. You will be the approver of record for numbers used by managers and owners.

You’ll work with the outsourced team in Yardi, automate repetitive tasks, and build dashboards that provide real-time visibility into AR, cash, and close status. Collaboration with management and construction teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with accounting experience
• 2+ years accounting experience; commercial real estate or property accounting strongly preferred
• Solid grasp of accrual accounting and full month-end close
• Experience with Yardi strongly preferred; MRI, AppFolio, or similar systems also helpful
• Strong Excel skills; dashboard/reporting/workflow automation interest a plus

Responsibilities

• Own the property-level numbers and ensure accuracy for monthly close
• Review and approve monthly financial packages and variance commentary
• Manage close calendar for portfolio ensuring timely month-, quarter-, year-end closes
• Prepare and post non-routine journal entries and clear GL exceptions
• Review bank reconciliations and cash reports; maintain depreciation, amortization and asset schedules
• Oversee AP processes: approve vendor setups and PO workflow in Yardi PayScan
• Oversee AR, lease administration, and tenant billing: approve billing and CAM/tax reconciliations
• Lead accounting setup for new properties; support budgets and reforecasts with management
• Develop dashboards and automate recurring tasks; collaborate with outsourced team
• Document procedures and controls for scalability
